We are seeking a part-time freelance website editor. The person will help build traffic to new websites and related Facebook pages. The freelance editor will focus on truck and off-roading markets. Desired content is vehicle news, new products, original website stories, and advertiser press releases. The position is an independent contractor (not an employee) and pay is $15.00 per hour. Maximum hours to work each week will not exceed 15 hours. Location, days and times you work are flexible.

Responsible for: Your duties will involve posting new vehicle launches, industry news and advertiser-provided press releases on new products. You will also help create original stories for new products or topics such as “Top 5 Tips for Winterizing your Muscle Car for Storage”. We do not expect you to create original installation stories that would require project vehicles, installation facilities, etc. Nor do we expect you to travel to events or advertiser locations.  The focus for this role is the quantity of post.

The bulk of your time will be spent creating posts on WordPress sites. You will also have access to the related Facebook pages to edit posts and monitor comments. We will establish a unique email for each site, through which you will communicate with our team and advertisers.

Finally, we operate a related video network (DigitalThrottle.tv). Part of your role will be editing video copy and tags we’ve uploaded into our library.

Times & Locations: We’ve developed a process where you can work independently on any day or day of the week. Our systems are built so you can write multiple posts on the same day and then schedule release dates. We don’t require a fixed schedule other than a weekly one-hour editorial meeting with Digital Throttle management on weekdays at a mutually-convenient time. We do not require you to travel to our San Juan Capistrano. CA office.

The ideal editor will have proven experience as a freelance writer in the truck/off-road markets. You should have solid skills posting and editing stories on websites. When you apply, please provide links to recent or relevant website stories.
